Meetings
The Ibero-American Museums Meeting is the leading space for cooperation, reflection and exchange within the museum sector in Ibero-America, promoted by the Ibermuseums Programme since 2007. Throughout its editions, it has established itself as a strategic platform for regional dialogue, the sharing of experiences and the strengthening of public policies in the museum field.
In this context, the 12th Ibero-American Museums Meeting: “Shared Heritage, Common Futures” will be held from 14 to 16 September 2026 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Meeting is conceived as an international space for reflection, exchange and cooperation for the Ibero-American museum sector, bringing together public officials, museum and heritage professionals, researchers, cultural agents and individuals interested in heritage.
Under the theme “Shared Heritage, Common Futures”, the Meeting seeks to strengthen a collective perspective that connects heritage, present and future, recognising cultural heritage as a living, diverse and shared expression, essential for imagining and building the futures of our societies.
