Education

Educational programs are one of the most important areas in which museums operate around the world. Therefore, this action has become one of the main focus areas of the Ibermuseums Program, fostering and recognizing the educational capacity of museums and cultural heritage as a strategy for transforming social reality.

The main project of this line of action is the Ibermuseos Education Award. In ten editions, 114 projects on the most varied and innovative approaches, carried out by the education teams of public, private or mixed museums in Latin America, have been recognized and promoted.

An expressive number of projects show the creativity and vigor of the educational areas of museums, especially from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Uruguay . It is possible to consult a selection of the awarded initiatives in the Bank of Good Practices in Educational Action.
