Repository of Ibermuseums Fund for Museological Heritage

Since its creation, Ibermuseums has been a fundamental pillar in the protection of the Ibero-American museum heritage. It has implemented crucial actions aimed at preventing risks, supporting the recovery of heritage affected by disasters, as well as enhancing museum heritage in our region.

Through the Ibermuseums Fund for Museological Heritage -an annual call addressed to museums in 22 Ibero-American countries-, the Program offers financial support for the implementation of preventive actions, emergency plans, diagnostics and specific intervention plans. This valuable effort has yielded remarkable results after five editions of the call, which has prompted us to organize this repository.

In this space we share the projects that have benefited, so that they serve as a stimulus for other museums. The database contains 23 projects from 7 countries that have had an impact on the protection of more than 120,000 museum assets, and will continue to grow in line with the Fund’s calls.

We invite you to explore this resource and be inspired by the projects supported by Ibermuseos. They will no doubt serve as a model and reference in their heritage protection initiatives.
